GUARDIAN GIRLS WKF

Guardian Girls WKF Global Karate Project is a worldwide social initiative that aims to promote gender equality and women's empowerment to defend themselves from all forms of Gender-Based Violence through Karate training.

Created by UNFPA, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency, the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF) and the World Karate Federation (WKF), the Guardian Girls Global Karate Project is a far-reaching initiative aiming to promote gender equality and empower women and girls through Karate. The concept is that a leading WKF Karate-Ka will take some local woman, who may have been affected by violence and introduce them to basic Karate based self-defence drills at each of the WKF major events in 2023-4.

Having delivered 2 well received seminars and demonstrations in Cairo and Rabat this year, Scotland's Amy Connell has been chosen as the WKF lead on this project. Amy is heading for Japan in June to deliver the seminar and demonstration at the WKF premier league event in Fukuoka.
